GLIMPSE3D Image Delivery - 1.2" pixels - Background Matched and Gradient Corrected Mosaics October 27, 2011 In the background matched mosaics, we match instrumental background variations between the individual IRAC frames. Instrument artifacts (see IRAC Data Handbook) such as full array pull-up, first frame effect and frame pull-down are mostly removed from the images during the background matching. The background matching introduces large-scale gradients which are removed. This processing may be removing real sky variations so we provide these images in addition to the previously delivered images that do not have the background matching. fitsverify was run on all the fits files. Each mosaic fits file has an associated .hdr file which contains the fits header from the fits file and additional information about the individual frames included in the mosaic image.
