GLIMPSE3D Source Lists Data Release for Six Areas - July 2008 ===================================================================== 1. Overview ===================================================================== This GLIMPSE3D source list data release is comprised of IPAC Tables of the GLIMPSE3D Catalog and Archive for 6 ~2 deg x 2 deg areas centered at about (1 epoch; 2 visits) l=18.5 deg, b=+2 deg l=18.5 deg, b=-2 deg l=25 deg, b=+2 deg l=25 deg, b=-2 deg l=30 deg, b=+2 deg l=30 deg, b=-2 deg SSC pipeline processing version S16.1 was used in these datasets. The highly reliable GLIMPSE3D Catalog (GLM3DC) consists of point sources that are detected at least twice in one band and at least once in an adjacent band and a S/N > 5 cut for the band with the two detections. There are also faint and bright flux limits on the Catalog entries. The more complete Archive (GLM3DA) has less stringent criteria, namely two detections in any bands, those detections having a S/N > 5. The IRAC data were bandmerged with the 2MASS All-Sky Point Source Catalog. See the GLIMPSE3D v1.1 Data Products & Data Delivery document for more details. ================= Source statistics ================= AREA # in Catalog # in Archive ---------------------------------- ------------ ------------ 18.5-02 l=~17 through ~19 deg 503,919 911,735 b=~-1 through ~-3 deg 18.5+02 l=~17 through ~19 deg 457,250 816,667 b=~+1 through ~+3 deg 25.0-02 l=~24 through ~26 deg 460,076 855,645 b=~-1 through ~-3 deg 25.0+02 l=~24 through ~26 deg 415,389 796,701 b=~+1 through ~+3 deg 30.0-02 l=~29 through ~31 deg 371,574 722,227 b=~-1 through ~-3 deg 30.0+02 l=~29 through ~31 deg 335,789 670,854 b=~+1 through ~+3 deg --------- --------- Totals 2,543,997 4,773,829 ===================================================================== 2. Catalog & Archive Files in IPAC Table Format There is one Catalog and one Archive file for each of the six areas. Thus there are 6 Catalog IPAC table files and 6 Archive IPAC table files. The Catalog and Archive files have the same format. nominal nominal longitude latitude Catalog No. of Archive No. of area covered area covered Filename Catalog Filename Archive (degrees) (degrees) Sources Sources ---------- ------------- -------------------- --------- -------------------- -------- 17-20 -1 to -3 GLM3DC_l018.5-02.tbl 503919 GLM3DA_l018.5-02.tbl 911735 17-20 +1 to +3 GLM3DC_l018.5+02.tbl 457250 GLM3DA_l018.5+02.tbl 816667 24-26 -1 to -3 GLM3DC_l025.0-02.tbl 460076 GLM3DA_l025.0-02.tbl 855645 24-26 +1 to +3 GLM3DC_l025.0+02.tbl 415389 GLM3DA_l025.0+02.tbl 796701 29-31 -1 to -3 GLM3DC_l030.0-02.tbl 371574 GLM3DA_l030.0-02.tbl 722227 29-31 +1 to +3 GLM3DC_l030.0+02.tbl 335789 GLM3DA_l030.0+02.tbl 670854 C. GLM3DC.tbl.dd - Data Dictionary for the Catalog IPAC Tables GLM3DA.tbl.dd - Data Dictionary for the Archive IPAC Tables (exactly the same as GLM3DC.tbl.dd) GLIMPSE3D.notes - Notes on the source designation, close source flag, source quality flag and flux calculation method flag used in the source lists. The IPAC Table validation tool (http://irsa.ipac.caltech.edu/applications/TblReformat/) was successfully run on some of the GLM3DA and GLM3DC IPAC Tables. D. Documentation The GLIMPSE3D v1.1 Data Release document (07/24/08) applies to these datasets. pdf and ps versions of the document are on available (glimpse3d_dataprod_v1.1.pdf and glimpse3d_dataprod_v1.1.ps). Other existing documentation includes the GLIMPSEI and GLIMPSEII Data Products and Quality Assurance Documents and a document describing in detail our point source photometry steps. See http://www.astro.wisc.edu/glimpse/docs.html ===================================================================== 3. Miscellaneous Information ===================================================================== A. Due to the nature of the survey mapping, there are areas outside of the nominal survey region that were observed (and may have incomplete coverage). We provide whatever sources that were detected and pass our source list criteria from outside the nominal survey area. B. There is a small amount of overlapping area between the GLIMPSEI and GLIMPSE3D surveys. Only the GLIMPSE3D data is presented in this data delivery.
